Meet Komintern Sect, the Oi trailblazers from France. In 1980, a group of high-school friends fed up with the scene decided to forge their own path. They founded Chaos Production and unleashed their debut album, Les Seigneurs de la guerre, in 1983, followed by Les Uns sans les autres in 1986. At the height of punk’s ideological clashes, they went their separate ways—only to reunite in 2014. Their comeback album dropped in 2016, and they toured across the world. Their final show, “Le Dernier Combat,” rocked Montreuil on 29 November 2024. Frontman Carl Jahier sadly passed away at 64 on 10 May 2025, but Komintern Sect’s raw power still echoes.
