Thanks4Nothing, the latest single from the album Endless by Australian punk band Clowns is a portrayal of the experiences and emotions felt during the pandemic. A release of energy following endless months of frustration and repetition of a Groundhog Day-like existence.
Pure energy and an element of relief. An uncertain and unprecedented period in our lives brought together by bassist Hanny J and usual lead vocalist Stevie Williams. The song, as the whole album pieced together with the band apart. Forced upon them by government-enforced curfew.
Hanny J`s vocals give Thanks4Nothing a unique feel to the rest of the tracks on the album and a similar sort of feel to artists such as Nova Twins Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes. Produced by Matt Squire along with another track on the album Sarah gives the track a polished finish without losing the raw punk edge. The track follows the rest of the album’s theme of immortality from going nowhere to the end of the incarceration.
Endless seems like just another classic Clowns album – fun, powerful, and with a lot of edge that keeps you hooked from beginning to end. But it’s also an exciting addition to Clowns and their growing musical legacy. They’ve got a fresh energy and creativity, blending their big influences with their own unique sound. Clowns have emerged from the shadows, and their journey remains an electrifying ride with no clear endpoint.
